Juhyun received her B.S. in Medical Biosystematics from Soongsil University in Korea in 2019, with a particular interest in genome-wide association studies (GWAS) and biostatistics. She completed her Ph.D. in 2024 in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at Seoul National University College of Medicine. Her dissertation research focused on identifying rare variants associated with clinical phenotypes, such as type 2 diabetes, using an East Asian–specific imputation panel. She also integrated GWAS findings with single-cell ATAC-sequencing data to interpret the cell-type-specific functions of genetic variants. Following her Ph.D., Juhyun pursued postdoctoral training in the Genome Informatics Section at the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI), part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), where she focused on assembly-graph curation and haplotype-specific methylation analysis. She later joined the Department of Computer Science at Johns Hopkins University as a postdoctoral researcher. She continues to contribute to the Human Pangenome Reference Consortium (HPRC) and the Telomere-to-Telomere (T2T) Consortium, while developing tools for T2T genome assembly.
